The Ian Wilson Memorial Fellowship was established to support emerging children’s authors and/or illustrators who explore Australian voices and themes.
The May Gibbs Children’s Literature Trust provides the successful applicant with travel to Adelaide, accommodation free of charge, a living allowance, and local support, facilitating creative time away from home for 21 nights in March 2027.
The successful applicant will be able to gain opportunities to grow their creative practice through this inspiring residency. They will have the opportunity to concentrate intensively on the development of new work, and participate in networking opportunities and professional development with the support from a vibrant community of children's literature creators.
